What I'm watching

What I'm watching

-- ONGOING --

Aparida: An A-rank adventurer leaves his party to form a new party with his former students.
Predictably he is far from useless, earning success while his former party suffers.
This is pretty good. The Mushoku Tensei comparisons are accurate and a compliment.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes: A wannabe hero joins other vigilantes in stopping crime.
They aim to stop a drug that turns users into violent psychopaths.
This is a good one, a must watch if you're a fan of MHA.

Rikekoi: Two scientists have feelings for each other and try to scientifically prove it.
They do experiments to test their romance, with hilarious results.
This is a pretty good rom-com but it gets autistic.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon: A young man wants to become an adventurer.
He is blessed with a very fast growth rate.
He's doing it all for a strong girl. This is good.

Reincarnated as a Sword: A guy is isekai'd as a sword and is wielded by an ex-slave catgirl.
He helps her train, to get stronger, to evolve her race.
This is a good one; part action, part wholesome bonding.

The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows: An OP healer is kicked out of party, sets up a clinic.

Top Gear: Continuing from series 11, will stop at series 22 as that's the last with the trio.

Clarkson's Farm season 2: Jeremy Clarkson is up to more antics on his farm. Good stuff.

-- 2025 --

My Hero Academia S07: Heroes gather to prepare for war against the Paranormal Liberation Front.
                           This is still good stuff.

Ranking of Kings: A deaf-mute prince is assisted by a shadow to become worthy of his title.
He may be a shorty but he is fast and has the potential to become the best king.
This is quite good. Don't let the art style fool you. It can get pretty sad.

Nina the Starry Bride: A girl resembles a deceased princess, so the prince seeks her as replacement.
She goes from street rat to royalty and can't act for shit.
This is alright but the political intrigue is boring.

DANDADAN: A guy and girl try to prove the existence of ghosts and aliens and both are right.
They team up, along with her GILF medium grandma, to take on the occult.
This is a great series. Good character design and animation.

The Hunted: Million Dollar Heist: 18 contestants rob a mock-bank and go on the run.
Those who evade capture after 20 days get a share of $100k.
I've always liked The Hunted series and this is good as usual.

The Legendary Hero Is Dead!: A loser accidentally kills the hero and take possession of his body.
He is forced to do the hero's quest: slay the Demon Lord.
This may be mid but it's funny as. Catchy OP too.

Kitchen Nightmares (UK): Gordon Ramsay seeks to improve poorly performing restaurants.
They're usually declining because of bad food and even worse staff.
I prefer the UK version to the over-edited US version.

Beastars - season 3: It is Legoshi vs the gangsters that run the underground black market.
The eponymous beastar is on the case as well.
This is good stuff but the smooth animation still makes me ill.

Re:Zero season 3: Part 1 of season 3, adapting Arc 5.
This is good stuff other than the questionable new character designs.

Mission: Yozakura Family: A guy marries a spy girl and must deal with her family.
He has to help them with their missions and daily lives.
This is fine silly fun though the beta MC makes it cringe at times.

Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki: A loser gamer guy is assisted by a girl to better himself.
He has to level up his appearance and habits to become a normie.
This is pretty good but it has a lot of beta male cringe moments.

Kotaro Lives Alone: A young kid lives along next door to a manga artist.
The little smart-ass is independent but still childlike, which is nice.
This is pretty funny but it also gets pretty sad. It's pretty alright.

Ranma 1/2: A young martial artist is cursed to change genders when exposed to water.
The quest is to cure the curse but an arranged marriage adds to the mess.
This is a great remake of a classic series.

True Beauty: A teen girl decides to master makeup, which leads to positives and negatives.
She attracts the pretty boys and petty bitches.
This is a girly anime. It's pretty good.

Food Wars: A guy joins an elite culinary school to be a great chef.
The glorious recipes make the customers (and viewers) have orgasms.
This is the best gourmet show there is. It's a good one.

Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back: Ramsay has 24 hours to fix a restaurant per episode.
This is Kitchen Nightmares speedrun edition.
It's a good show but it is over-edited to hell.

Berserk of Gluttony: A useless guy learns his 'gluttony' skill that absorbs others' stats and skills.
The catch is that he gains no experience and has to keep killing or go mad.
Yep, it's an 'everyone underestimates the OP MC' story. It's alright.

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle: A cute comedy of a kidnapped princess trying to fall asleep.
She aims to better her living experience, with funny results.
This is cute and more funnier than expected.

Insomniacs After School: Two teens with insomnia bond over napping.
The girl is outgoing and the guy is withdrawn, but they are cute together.
This is one of the best romance series that I've seen in quite a while.

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip: Three top chefs travel around and get into mischief.
The emphasis is on crafting fine local food.
This is a good one if you can stomach it.

BLUE LOCK season 2: More footie action, this time covering the U-20 arc.
The production quality has dipped, hence the 'PNG LOCK' meme.
This is still good even if it's a slideshow at times.

Demon Lord, Retry!: The creator of an MMO gets isekai'd into his game as the demon lord.
He uses his admin powers to become an OP MC, but it ain't easy.
This is alright; it's like a worse version of Overlord

The Irregular at Magic High School: Two siblings enter a magic academy and get split up.
The MC is OP but has his reasons for hiding his power level.
It's like Harry Potter but with incest siblings. It's alright.

Kakushigoto: A mangaka father raises his daughter and has to hide his raunchy work from her.
He has to keep up the charade. It's heartwarming stuff but pretty slow.
I quite like how this was adapted. That last episode was something else.

Beheneko: A knight is reincarnated as a behemoth kitten and an elf adopts him.
The kitty can absorb the skills of the enemies it eats, becoming even more OP.
Cute cat + big titty elf girl = dinner sorted, though it's cringe like Inukai-san's Dog.

From Bureaucrat to Villainess: An old man gets isekai'd as the villainess in an otome game.
He tries to play the role but his dad mode slips through.
This is alright. You'd be a fool to drop it after 3 episodes.

I'll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History: A girl gets isekai'd into her fave otome game.
She trains and studies hard to be the villainess.
This is cute but lacking in romance. It's alright.

Very Private Lesson: A teacher unwillingly lives with a female student he must protect.
He's in a rough spot: her dad's a yakuza and she keeps sexually teasing him.
                    This is an alright OVA.

Vinland Saga: A young boy joins the Vikings to slay the man who murdered his father.
The saga takes him many years across many locations.
This is an amazing series, and turn boys into men.

The Ossan Newbie Adventurer: An OP guild clerk quits to become an adventurer.
Everyone underestimates him because he's 32. That's not old damn it.
This is a fine series to switch your brain off to.

Holy Knight: A guy gets hit on by a vampire girl who needs him for a secret purpose.
Spoiler alert: she wants to conceive a child with the guy to continue her bloodline.
It's fine if you can stomach the cringe.

Buddy Daddies: Two hitmen take in a young girl after her father is killed.
They are a good-cop bad-cop pair, but with hitmen. Miri is so adorable.
This is like Spy X Family with two Loids. It's pretty good.

Clarkson's Farm: The trials and tribulations of Jeremy Clarkson tending to his farm.
He cocks up every step of the way, with hilarious results.
               This is some great stuff.

Murai in Love: A student uses otome dating games to win over his homeroom teacher's heart.
He changes his looks to match her husbando. It works more than she wishes.
It's good to see a complete adaptation. It's funny and good.

Demon Lord 2099: The demon lord is revived 500 years later and vows to uncover why
It is 2099 and the MC and his ilk have been betrayed and are weak.
This is pretty good but it gets weird and hard to follow at times.

The Elusive Samurai: A young samurai kid is chosen to be the next shogun but doesn't want it.
He's very good at running and hiding. That means evasion and stealth.
This is alright. The animation is the best part.

Tokyo Revengers: Tenjiku-hen: Season 3, covers the Tenjiku arc (chapters 126-185).
new gang, not existing in Takemichi's present, declare war.
This is good stuff but it won't win over any non-fans.

Mob Psycho 100: A psychic kid is OP but isn't happy in life, until he meets a con man.
They team up to exorcise spirits, in amazing animated detail.
This is a good one but the art style makes it overlooked.

Trigun Stampede: A remake of the classic series but with a remixed plot, all in full CGI.
There are enough changes to warrant a look.
It was alright but the smooth animation made me feel sick.

Sakamoto Days: A retired assassin is dragged out of slow family life by the assassin association.
He has to protect his business and loved ones by hitmen and wirdos.
This is a good series with thrilling fight scenes that need better animation.

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf: A merchant meets the forgotten wolf goddess.
This is a good remake of a great series.
It also covers all the volumes, which is good.

Baki Hanma: Baki goes on an intense training regime to be the strongest, surpassing his father.
This involves image training and beating up brawny beefy bastards.
This is good food for Baki chads and shounen fighting freaks.

The God of High School: A tournament in Korea is hosted for all fighters of any discipline.
The winner gets whatever they desire.
This is a good one with fast fluid fighting, and it's pretty funny too.

ZENSHU: An animator for an anime studio is isekai'd into the world of a fantasy anime.
She knows the world's plot and she has a magic tool that enables her to draw things to life.
This is quite a good series but I lost interest midway through.

Danganronpa: The Animation: Adaptation of the first game, Trigger Happy Havoc.
It more or less follows the same plot.
It's good stuff other than the changed VAs.

The Hunted UK: Regular UK people go on the run and must evade capture to win £100k.
By regular people they mean Indians and deaf people. Pffft.
This is a good one. I've always like Hunted shows.

You are Ms. Servant: An ex-assassin woman wants to work as a maid to move on from her past.
She moves in with a dorky guy and they bond, romance forms, etc.
This is alright, definitely helped by all the assassin action.

Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom: Ainz agrees to help the Sacred Kingdom from a demon.
The thing is, Ainz aims to acquire the Sacred Kingdom for himself.
                                 This is a great movie.

Drifters: Historical figures are brought to a world to do battle against each other.
It's Drifters versus Ends, in bloody battles with melee and magic.
This is brutal and funny but it gets too dark and too silly at times. Season 2 never?

NieR Automata Ver1.1a cour 2: Adapts Route C of the game, with changes here and there.
I love the design, music, and android mommy 2B.

Laid Back Camp: Chill comfy slice of life starring girls camping in the great outdoors.
The visuals of this show are amazing. Nature fills me with happiness.
This is a good series to relax and heal from.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Anime-original following the second game.
The first arc is prequel, the second is sequel.
This is good stuff for Danganronpa fans.

Shangri-La Frontier season 2: More adventures of a guy that loves conquering bad games.
What's cool is that he plays other games too. It's so good.

Romantic Killer: An unambitious girl is dropped into an IRL dating game by a god.
To escape this world without her desires she must give in to romance.
This is pretty good, though it is more com than rom.

I Parry Everything: A guy who only has defensive skills vows to become an adventurer.
He can parry any attack but he has no offense, so he must rely on others.
This is pretty alright. It's nothing special but it doesn't need to be.

Rising Impact: A country boy discovers golf and travels to Tokyo with a girl to play golf.
He's a funny kid but damn  he can be annoying (like an actual kid).
This is one of the better golf anime.

Asterix and Obelix: The Big Fight: A retelling of the book with original content.
For some reason it also includes an origin story.
This is pretty good. I hope they more series like this.

Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence: A priest and saint girl do church work and bond.
The lazy saint is doted on by the priest clueless of her affection.
This is good wholesome stuff, funny but could have more romance.

Medalist: A guy helps a young girl fulfill her ballet dream.
He vicariously tries to achieve what he cannot through her efforts but she's very anxious.
This is hilarious and better than I thought it would be.

Parallel World Pharmacy: A healthcare professor is isekai'd as a kid and seeks to improve healthcare.
He is OP with magic and can create elements from nothing.
This is interesting at first but slips into boredom halfway through.

Solo Leveling season 2: The continued adventures of the E-rank hunter who becomes OP.
This is good popcorn anime, to switch your brain off to.

A Killer Paradox: A loser guy accidentally kills a man who just happened to be a serial killer.
A detective is on the case and slowly suspects the loser as the culprit.
This is a pretty good crime drama, apart from the dumb imagine spots.

Top Gear: Three British blokes, plus the Stig, talk about cars and test them out.
This takes them on adventures, doing interesting challenges with hilarious results.
This is an amazing series but you best steer clear when the hosts are replaced.

Astra Lost in Space: Some teens find themselves trapped in a space station lightyears from home.
They plan to route that involves visiting various planets to re-fuel.
This is like a sci-fi Lord of the Flies. It's alright.

Headhunted to Another World: A salaryman gets isekai'd and is offered to work for the Demon Lord.
His job involves negotiations to bolster the demon army.
This is like anime Steven Universe but much better. It's alright.

The Fable: A hitman and his female driver must live a normal life to lay low.
Too bad the deadly underworld gets them involved.
This is a good series but the animation gets real ugly CGI at times.

Moving: Three teens with powers must deal with the drama once people learn about their powers.
There's also some contract killer going around killing people who have powers.
This is pretty good, better than expected. It does get dull at times.

The 100 Girlfriends season 2: More harem hijinks from one of the best romance series.
It always astounds me they have this many girls and none feel left out.
This is strong in both rom and com. Watch it now, then read the manga.

Failure Frame: A guy is isekai'd with the 'worthless' skill of status ailments... that work 100%.
He is deemed the weakest, exiled, and claws back from the dungeon an OP MC.
It's basically Arifureta but without the harem, and also with bad CGI. Good as well.

Please Put Them On, Takamine-san: A teen girl can rewind time by taking off her underwear.
She blackmails the class loser into carrying spare underwear.
This is alright. I just wish it was more romance than cringe.

Yandere Dark Elf: An isekai'd guy returns to his homeworld but a yandere dark elf follows him.
This is pretty alright. I just wish the MC wasn't a kid.

Panic: A small town has a series of games for seniors, the winner able to escape.
The challenges involve fear. Panicking is the last thing contestants should do, but they do.
This is alright. The dialogue can be cringe (but then again most teenagers are cringe).

Most Dangerous Game: A dying man enters a cat-and-mouse deathgame to raise money for his family.
It's basically The Running Man or Hunted with violence.
You can either watch it in fifteen 10 min episodes or a 2 hour compilation.

The Killing Vote: Twice a month a killer polls the nation on whether a criminal deserves justice.
A renegade cop that gets results is on the case.
I don't care for police procedure or the morals and ethics talk. It's alright.

Ubel Blatt: A hero is betrayed and killed by his comrades and returns twenty years later for revenge.
He seeks to kill the other heroes but gets roped into preventing a catastrophe.
This is a good series, full of action and angst.

Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie: A romcom about a cute girl that protects her wimpy boyfriend.
He's a magnet for danger and she's the helicopter girlfriend.
I usually don't like such a dynamic but I did like this.

Dragon Ball DAIMA: The new Demon King wishes all the Z-fighters be turned into children.
He thinks that will make them weaker, but not so.
This is quite good, definitely better than what die-hard DB fans claim.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time: A salaryman is accidentally isekai'd to a fantasy world.
He decides to live a quiet life training in alchemy.
This is alright slice-of-life but it is light on content.

Sweet Home: A loner teen with nothing left to lose must take on the monsters that took everything.
These monsters are zombie abominations that are born from innermost desires.
The MC becomes a monster-human hybrid. This series is pretty good.

Girumasu: A guild receptionist gets so fed up with work she takes care of dungeons herself.
She's an OP MC in disguise but the leader of a top guild figures her out.
This is great, pretty hilarious, one of the best shows of its season.

Prison School: A group of guys are the only boys in an all-girls school.
They are kept in line by a big booba babe and other dangerous girls.
This is a hilarious series, with lots of fanservice and violence, all my faves.

Most Dangerous Game season 2: Another 'participant' in the most deadly game of tag.
This is alright, it's fine but it lacks the impact season 1 did.

Arifureta: An otaku is isekai'd but he soon gets betrayed by his party.
After his betrayal he becomes OP and eventually gets a harem. Yeah, the usual.
This is alright. The CGI is ugly but the action is good.

Kaiju No. 8: Hoshina's Day Off: An OVA detailing what Hoshina does on his day off,
This is a good extra, complimenting the movie.

Blue Box: A sporty guy lives with a sporty girl he has a crush on.
He's a timid dork and she's mature, and they are cute together.
This is cute good stuff. I quite liked it other than the Netflix-tier CGI.

Tales of Wedding Rings: A guy crashes his crush's wedding and marries her.
His crush is an isekai'd princess. He cucks the prince, beginning his quest.
This is alright, better than what people say (but not by much).

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl: Sakuta encounters two versions of a girl from his past.
The teen Shouko is ill and adult Shouko is from future.
A good movie, worth watching after finishing the series.

The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World: An OP sentai guy gets isekai'd.
He teams up with a witch.
This is a fun parody, with cheesy CGI.

Aoaishi: A teen guy good at football is coached to get better and win the tournament.
He's a spirited egoist who wants to be a star striker.
It's like Blue Lock but more grounded in normalcy. It's pretty good.

Witchblade: A mother aims to protect her daughter using the power of the Witchblade.
She is given a deal: money in return for her killing weapons gone rogue.
This is has violence and fan-service. I like this, it's a good one from the 2000s.

Girl from Nowhere: A mysterious girl transfers from school to school exposing their secret sins.
Some sins she witnesses, some sins she engineers.
This is a good series though it's too episodic for my tastes.

The Seven Heavenly Virtues: Angels are sent to Earth to find a saviour to fight demons.
Each of them train the future saviour, with sexy results.
These are low-budget bite-sized episodes. Pretty good fun time-fillers.

Skeleton Knight in Another World: An isekai where the MC is a skeleton in an RPG.
He's OP but wants to live a quiet life, which he doesn't get.
This is a pretty good series, more chill than its contemporaries.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out: Kaede struggles to determine her future path.
The stress of school causes anxiety and stress.
Another good movie in the series.

Dead Set: A zombie apocalypse happens during the filming of Big Brother.
Imagine The Walking Dead but it's a satirical comedy and British.
         This is pretty good.

Aharen-san Is Indecipherable Season 2: More cuteness of stoic guy x quiet girl.
A quirky yet insecure gyaru joins the cast.
Funny how this series is overlooked yet mogs most others.

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: A guy from the sticks turns out to be OP.
He is recruited to mentor trainee knights.
This is pretty alright. Adaptation skipped a lot.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid: Sakuta becomes invisible due to his conflicting feelings.
Even his momma thinks that his mind is gone.
Another great movie, probably my fave in the trilogy.

James May Oh Cook season 2: More cooking antics from James May.
It's funny to see how far he has come and yet still cocks it up.

SUPER HXEROS: Five teens must fight off aliens that want to kill off humans' libidos.
This involves Sentai style battles, with sexy results.
This is a good mixture of ecchi and action, with a helping of romance.

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc: A young woman joins a magical girl company to fight creatures.
Though she is timid she is more capable than she believes she is.
This is one of the better magical girl series out there.

Makina-san's a Love Bot?!: A girl robot moves in with an otaku who takes care of her repairs.
Turns out she is actually a sex-robot, hence her lust.
It's a 'gal who is nice to otaku' type story. It's lewd and decent.

WIND BREAKER Season 2: Covers the KEEL arc, with no-holds barred gang warfare.
Other than beatings it covers growth, strength, loyalty, and redemption.
This is another good season of one of the better shounen brawlers.

High School of the Dead: Zombies take over in this very raunchy action-horror series.
There's violence, swearing, and big floppy fanservice.
This is a great series. Watch it if you liked Prison School.

Banished From The Hero's Party: The MC is banished and opens an apothecary in the countryside.
A party member finds out and moves in with him as his lover.
It's a pretty alright slice-of-life with bits of action and romance.

TRILLION GAME: The tale of how two guys become some of the richest men in the world.
Haru is the confidence man and Manabu is the panicking tech guy.
They make money through deception, like Liar Game. It's pretty good stuff.

Kowloon Generic Romance: An office lady falls for her co-worker in the slums of Kowloon City.
It turns out she might be who she thinks she is. A mystery is afoot.
This is a pretty good series but it does speedrun the manga.

Mother of the Goddess' Dormitory: A homeless boy becomes the manager of a girls' dorm.
They all have a crush on him. They are adults and he's like 12.
This alright, bit short, and definitely gatekeeps normie tourists.

Loner Life in Another World: A class gets isekai'd and the MC is stuck with the useless skills.
He makes crafty use of them to become OP in an unconventional way.
This is an alright one, different but nothing too special.

Australia Gladiators: A version of Gladiators but with annoying Australians.
The cringe banter makes it hard to watch. The UK version is way better.

A Whisker Away: An insecure girl has unrequited love for a guy but acquires something that will help.
She gains a mask that lets her transform into a cat and bond with the unaware guy.
This is a fantastic movie, my fave anime film that isn't from Ghibli or CoMix Wave.

Quality Assurance in Another World: A village girl teams up with a knight to take on dragons.
It turns out it's a VR game and the 'debuggers' were isekai'd.
This is alright, though it's slow and has ugly visuals.

The Millionaire Detective: An uber-rich guy pays to be a wreckless detective.
He effortless pay off collateral damage to solve cases his way.
I dislike police procedure but this makes this series a good one.

Higehiro: A salaryman takes her in a runaway high school girl and they bond.
She gets from him a parental father figure, and he aims to help her overcome her trauma.
It's alright. Relax, it doesn't have any romance between them.
