The US mint went back to using copper but a few steel coins were minted.

1804 Silver Dollar, Class I
Minted as a gift for Asian dignitaries on state visits.

1933 Double Eagle
Never officially circulated due to the US government recalling it.

1943 US Copper Penny
The copper was not to be used during wartime but a few coins were made.

1792 Birch Cent
A prototype coin the US mint made before officially minting pennies the next year.

1787 Brasher Doubloon
Ephraim Brasher minted his own coins after the US Mint denied him.

1936 Canadian "Dot" Dime
The dot under the date on the coin means it was minted in 1937, not 1936.

These were minted without the approval of the US Mint.
