It was to be a 3D hovercraft game. I don't think it got renamed and released.

It was another of Scavenger's projects that bit the dust when they bit the dust.

The plot involves you, an angelic girl, seeking to prevent Satan from ruling the Earth.

It borrows heavily from the Bible, especially the book of Revelation.

Angel was cancelled when Scavenger went under.

You play as some scuba girl that swims around, exploring ruins and solving puzzles.
All to save the world from Nostradamus' predictions.

Probably cancelled for not being fun.
That's just my opinion, because it doesn't sound fun.

Ardonia is a cancelled PC game by BlueBall Interactive Games.
It was to be an FPS game with a possible Xbox 360 port.

It was also part RPG, building up with skills of your team (of course).

PC Zone issue 113 (March 2002)

Expected release date: 1998/1999

Covert W.A.R.S., often stylized as Covert WARS, was first unveiled at E3 1997.
Playmates, the publisher was showing it off alongside MDK and VMX.

This game was probably dismissed by Playmates as they were more keen in better games.
They would later on publish RC Stunt Copter.

Playmates trademarked the game on 5/28/1997.
They abandoned it and let it expire on 11/27/1998.

https://www.unseen64.net/2011/01/13/covert-w-a-r-s-psx-pc-cancelled/

You would play as a hacker, infiltrating systems and shooting guys with cyber tanks.

A preview of the game is on the Sample This Crystal Dynamics demo disc.

Death Machine

Death Machine is a cancelled PS1, Saturn, and PC game by SCi (Sales Curve Interactive).
It was to be an adaption of the 1994 film of the same name.

Doomsday Rescue

Doomsday Rescue is a cancelled PS2, Xbox, and GameCube game by Beyond Games,

The trademark was filed in May 2002.
It was allowed to expire the next year in May 2003.

In 2004 Codefire filed a complaint against Teknik Corp for stealing trade secrets.
Apparently Teknik's game, AniDragon, was basically a ripoff of this still-in-development game.
The court costs and expenses was pretty hefty. Codefire canned all games to cut costs.

#############################################################################

Dragon Wars

Dragon Wars is a cancelled Xbox game by Climax Studios.
It might be a remake of the old PC game of the same name, or maybe not.

Climax Studios posted job offerings for work on this game.
Considering the job offering got updated to remove mention of this game...
It is unknown how far into production this game got, if any progress at all.

#############################################################################

Earth Monster

Earth Monster is a cancelled PS1 game by Virgin Interactive.
It was to be an ultra-violent Aztec basketball sports game.

Pretty much no details of the game has been released; not even Clive Barker himself knows!

#############################################################################

Elemental

Elemental is a cancelled Xbox game from KnowWonder Digital Media Works.
It was probably an education game, since that is what KnowWonder specialized in.

Expected release date: Fall 2001

Having had a fruitful contract with Microsoft, KnowWonder worked on an Xbox game.
This announcement was made on March 10, 2000.

Instead of working on Elemental, KnowWonder worked on licensed games.
Harry Potter games and games based on various animated cartoons and movies were their goal.
Their barely-public game Elemental went the way of the dodo.

#############################################################################

Escape From LA

Escape From LA is a cancelled PS1, Saturn, M2, and PC game from Virgin Interactive.
It was indeed to be based on the 1996 film of the same name.

Expected release date: 1996/1997

The game was cancelled because the movie wasn't a success.

#############################################################################

Fallout (PS1)

Fallout is a classic PC game, developed by Black Isle Studios and released in 1997.
A PlayStation port was in the works but was cancelled.

The game was not going to the RPG game we all know, but rather a top-gun action shooter.

The PS1 port only got 3-4 months of work put into it.
Then Interplay Productions pulled the plug on the project.

But why? Maybe Interplay didn't have enough faith in the product.
Maybe the game was too different from the original.
Either way, it's just another PC RPG the PS1 never got.

#############################################################################

Far Nation

Far Nation/Farnation is a cancelled MMORPG for the Dreamcast and later on Xbox by Sega.
It was Sega's answer to Sony's Everquest.

Expected release date: summer 2001

The game was set a big world you and other players could build in.
Build banks, hospitals, casinos, restaurants, libraries, and build the city.
Trade with other characters for items/resources and build the world together.

The game was cancelled in mid-2001 due to Sega ending support for the Dreamcast.
Sega then shifted from hardware to solely software. It was now bound for the Xbox.
The game was likely cancelled there due to the Xbox not being popular in Japan.

#############################################################################

First Daughters

PS1 game from Human Code, Inc.

Expected release date: 1997?

It was to be a side-scroller game for consoles, probably the PS1 only.
Was it to be an educational game about the daughters of US presidents?
Human Code did mainly make edutainment games. Who knows.

#############################################################################

Frontier

Frontier is a cancelled for Dreamcast by Turbine Games.
It was to be an MMO.

Next Generation issue 57 (September 1999)

Next Generation issue 64 (April 2000)

Cancelled due to technical difficulties of having an MMO on the Dreamcast.
Maybe they knew that the Dreamcast was dying and so focused on more meaningful projects.

#############################################################################

Golden Ears

Golden Ears is a cancelled PS1 and PC game from Inner Workings.
Again, another game I know nothing about.

Expected release date: 1998/1999

It can be assumed that this game was to come out after Plane Crazy.
Their website made no mention of it.
Inner Workings went defunct in 1999.

#############################################################################

Harcorp

Harcorp is a cancelled PS1 game from Grolier Interactive.
I barely know anything about this game.

Expected release date: 1998/1999

The website has nothing about it.
Maybe another company made it, as Grolier Interactive sometimes just publishes.

I-5 Racing

I-5 Racing is a cancelled game by Vision Games.
It is unknown how far into development this game got before Vision Games' demise.

#############################################################################

Ion Runner

Ion Runner is a cancelled PS2 game from Attention to Detail.
It was the last game Attention to Detail were working on before their collapse in 2003.

Ion Runner was to be a futuristic racing game, like Wipeout but with smaller bikes.
Only two levels were programmed before the game was folded.

#############################################################################

Jalapeno Harry

Jalapeno Harry is a cancelled PS1 game by 989 Studios.
It was made by Sony to compete with Crash Bandicoot but it failed.

Expected release date: 1996/1997

Before Naughty Dog was acquired by Sony, Sony wanted to make their own Crash-like game.
Jalapeno Harry was graphically as good as Crash 1 but was not as good with playability.
At least that proves that Naughty Dog did not get secret Sony tools and whatnot.

#############################################################################

Knight N' Knight

Knight N' Knight is a cancelled GameCube game by Overworks.
It was to be the true sequel to Clockwork Knight 2.

Expected release date: 2002/2003

The game was likely cancelled due to Overworks and WOW Entertainment merging.

#############################################################################

Knights of Genesis

Knights of Genesis is a cancelled PS1 game by Softmax/Escot.
Also called Knights of Genesis: Kamigami no Tasogare, it is a Japanese RPG.

Expected release date: 1998

In 1996 Softmax made The War of Genesis II for DOS.
They wanted to remake the game for the PS1.
The game was to have two disks and full motion FMVs.

Apparently the magazine review copy has been dumped.
It is available for download somewhere.

#############################################################################

Kung Faux

Kung Faux is cancelled PS2 and Xbox game by Blue Shift.
It was to be based on the US TV show of the same name.

Expected release date: 2004

Acclaim was going to publish the game but then they went bankrupt.
Blue Shift didn't bother with another publisher.

#############################################################################

It was to be a 3D Contra-esque platformer shooter.

Expected release date: Q2 1998, then 1999

Playmag issue 17 (September 1997)

Console News issue 14 (September 1997)

I wish I could tell you what all that French text says.
I don't speak/read French and I can't be bothered translating it.

In early 1999 MagicArts removed mention of the game from their website.
Around December 1999 or January 2000 MagicArts became Secret Level.

#############################################################################

Lilther B

Lilther B is a cancelled Dreamcast and Xbox game by Takuyo.
It was to be a puzzle game.

Expected release date: 2000

The game was cancelled for unknown reasons.

#############################################################################

Marble Madness 2

Marble Madness 2 is a cancelled PS2, Xbox, and GameCube game from Blitz Games.
The game was also titled Pulsar.

Expected release date: 2003/2004

The originally attempt at Marble Madness 2 was the arcade version back in 1991.
When Atari saw the stiff competition they cancelled the game.
The surviving arcade machine prototypes are now valuable collector's items.

Jump forward a decade later. Blitz Games wants to make an updated next-gen sequel.
They renamed the game to Pulsar as they likely couldn't get the rights.
The game was likely cancelled for being too simple for a game in the era of Halo.

#############################################################################

Magic Flute

Magic Flute is a cancelled N64 game by Sunsoft USA.
It was to be an action game of some kind.

Expected release date: December 1998

Can't find any information other than speculated release dates.
This game probably got stuck in the design stage and killed off there.

#############################################################################

Magic the Gathering

Magic the Gathering is a cancelled Xbox and PC game by Codefire.
The game was to be a 3D combat arena game based on the cards.

Expected release date: 2002/2003

Codefire underwent some troubles in after 2002, fumbling with other cancelled games.
In 2004 Codefire filed a complaint against Teknik Corp for stealing trade secrets.
The court costs and expenses was pretty hefty.

In 2006 they shifted to providing technology and frameworks to MMORPGs.
This only lasted a few years before they either went defunct or merged or changed their name.
It's unknown how far in development this game got.

#############################################################################

Marionette

Marionette is a cancelled GameCube game by Nintendo.
It started life on the N64 before being tested on the next gen system.

Estimated release date: 1999/2000

The project was basically akin to a tech demo.
People assumed it was a Mario game based on the name. Nope, the puppet is not Mario.

Marionette was cancelled due to it being both complicated and simple.
Perhaps they couldn't weave in a decent plot or flesh out the gameplay mechanics.

#############################################################################

Marvel 2099: One Nation Under Doom

Marvel 2099: One Nation Under Doom is a cancelled PS1 game from Saffire for Mindscape.
It was to be a sidescroller like other superhero games at the time.

Expected release date: December 1996/1997

Official UK PlayStation Magazine issue 7 (June 1996)

Play (UK) issue 8 (June 1996)

The game was cancelled when Mindscape was sold to The Learning Company.
To cut costs this game was cancelled to get some needed profit for the fiscal year.

Documentary-type video

#############################################################################

Maximum Gauge

Maximum Gauge is a cancelled PS1 and PC game by Big Grub.
It was to be a top-down 2.5D isometric adventure game, like Diablo meets Zelda.

Expected release date: late 1997, then early 1998, then 1999

You were to play as a galactic commando who is set out to retrieve stolen military hardware.
Accompanying you is a ragtag team of weirdos.
Your team is composed of you, a four-armed dwarf, a cyborg girl, and a brain in a jar.

When the game did not show at E3 1999, the game was assumed to have been shot down.
It was never heard of again.

According to one of the founders of Big Grub on his website, the game was muddled.
Developers, designers, and everyone else had different ideas for the game's direction.
In the end the project was dropped.

#############################################################################

Mini-Golf Mayhem

Mini-Golf Mayhem is a cancelled PS2. Xbox, and GameCube game by Crave Entertainment.

Expected release date: Q4 2004, then Q1 2005

Likely cancelled for being mediocre crap amongst the other mediocre crap Crave publishes.

#############################################################################

Morphman

MorphMan is a cancelled PC game by Creat Studios.
Again, no information can be found about this title.

Supposed release date: 1999

You would play as a human that can morph into four different creatures.
These are: Spider, Hopper, Ray and Sticker.

Apparently this game was developed but not published... or was it?

https://web.archive.org/web/20010817174801/http://www.creatstudio.com/game-3.html

#############################################################################

Mudkicker

PS1, Saturn, and PC game racing game from Scavenger.

Expected release date: 1997

Edge issue 34 (July 1996)

Mean Machines issue 45 (July 1996)

Play (UK) issue 10 (August 1996)

It looks like an arcade style off-road racer.
Imagine Trackmania + Colin McRae Rally. Sort of.

The game was cancelled when Scavenger closed down.
Scavenger had a dispute with GT Interactive over not being paid.
Followed by a lawsuit and then Scavenger closing down in 1998.

#############################################################################

Multitude

Multitude is a cancelled PC game by LogicalVice.
It was to be a mystery puzzled-based MMO with RTS elements. Phew!

#############################################################################

Net XX

Net XX is a cancelled Xbox game by Takuyo.
It was to be an action game (with anime aesthetics no doubt).

Expected release date: 2002/2003

The game was cancelled for unknown reasons.

#############################################################################

Nickelodeon's CatDog: Saving Mean Bob

Nickelodeon's CatDog: Saving Mean Bob is a cancelled action PC and PlayStation game.
Very little is known about the game.

What I can gather is that:
* KnowWare was working on it
* Hasbro Interactive was going to publish it
* writer Robert Lamoreaux was writing for the game
* the game was due for Fall of 2000
* the game was worked on in the year 1998
* the game was cancelled in the year 2000

The game was probably cancelled because the developers KnowWare made educational games.
Perhaps the radness of CatDog was too taxing so they wisely cut it?

Hasbro Interactive went defunct in 2001 for making too many 3D versions of classic games.
They didn't sell well, so they closed up shop,  taking this game with them.

#############################################################################

NYPD: Enforcer

NYPD: Enforcer is a cancelled PC and Xbox game by Rage Software.
It was probably going to be a GTA clone from the police perspective.

Rage Games Ltd. did not release the intellectual property to Perfect 10.
Without the rights, and Rage not willing to work on it, Perfect 10 went to zero.

#############################################################################

Placebo Effect

Placebo Effect is a cancelled game by Vision Games.
It is unknown how far into development this game got before Vision Games' demise.

#############################################################################

It was to be a 3D mech sort of game.

Expected release date: 1995/1996

Ultimate Future Games issue 9 (August 1995)

Games World #15 (September 1995)

Prowler started off as a 3DO exclusive before Origin saw the light: the PlayStation.
Development shifted over. This was their first in-house PS1 game.
The game was cancelled when EA pulled the plug on the project in typical EA fashion.

https://www.unseen64.net/2009/12/02/prowler-psx-cancelled/

#############################################################################

Pumpkin Man

Pumpkin Man is a cancelled Xbox game by Metro3D.
It was to be a spooky horror action game.

Expected release date: 2005

You would play Joshua, a prisoner, released to seek out the All Saints Crystal.
Removing the crystal would release the inhabitants of Hell so they can have a Halloween party.

Metro3D would become defunct in 2004, leaving this game unfinished and unpublished.

#############################################################################

Quest 64 II

Quest 64 II is a cancelled N64 game by Imagineer.
It was to be a sequel to the original, obviously.

Expected release date: 2000?

The plot was set 100 years after the original.
You could play as two different characters: Leohn and Sophia.
Travel around the world doing quests and whatnot.

There were new innovations, like earning money to buy items from shops. Pffft.
You also had a magical vehicle sidekick called 'the Guardian'.
Imagineer ran into financial difficulty and cancelled the game.

#############################################################################

Robocop

Robocop is a cancelled PS1 and N64 game by Realtime Associates.
A tech demo was made by them to get the ball rolling for full development.
Sadly it did not transpire.

The game was announced on their website in I think 1999.

Realtime Associates also made a Gen13 tech demo for another game did not come into being.
Check the Gen13 section for a download link to it.

#############################################################################

Rogue

Rogue is a cancelled PlayStation 2 game from Studio Leeds.
The game was to be a stealth action game.

Expected release date: 2001

Information on this game is scant as it was not really announced or talked about.

Rogue was postponed in August 2001, which is code for cancelled.
Then Studio Leeds ceased to be.

Studio Leeds went defunct in 2001 or 2002.

#############################################################################

Roll-O-Rama

Roll-O-Rama is a cancelled GameCube by HAL Laboratory, Inc.
It was simply a tech demo showcasing motion-based controls.
